No Tactic is perfect !

It all comes down to the opponents tactis, opponents skills, Opponents lvl's vs your groupd lvl's, the opponents classes vs your groups classes, and finally the numbers on each side.

Oh and let's not forget, it all depends on how well your group as a hole understand teamwork. It depends on ALL in the BG joining the raid party for easier comunication.

Finally, the laaaag has a role to play. It's simply not funny to have 1000 ms or more, and be in a BG.
